HP Precisionscan Pro is developed by Hewlett-Packard and is used by 25 users of Software Informer. The most popular versions of this product among our users are: 2.0, 2.5, 3.0 and 3.1. The names of program executable files are HP PrecisionScan Pro.exe, hprbui.exe, HPScan.exe, hpscnsvr.exe and HPSysDig.exe. The product will soon be reviewed by our informers.

I want to share this with everybody.
- Installation: Modify the setup program properties to run as an administrator and set compatibility mode to WinXPSP3. Then proceed with the installation.
- Stop and disable the service Windows Image Acquisition (WIA).
- Modify the program launch link (or better the program itself) the same way as above (admin/XPSP3).
- You're good to go!
On very rare occasions your scan will block anyway.
The first thing to check is the status of the service.
Sometimes the service gets enabled and restarted again.
At the moment I am not sure what program does this and since it is rare...
Powerdown or disconnect the scanner, stop all HP Presionscan programs and processes. Only then you will be able to stop and disable the service again.
